My Experience:
I tried my mother’s technique of record keeping when I’d my own household, but lost the momentum shortly. It was very difficult to keep monitor of who did and didn’t reciprocate a card throughout the busyness of the time period. Later, my funds got tighter and I’d to minimize the quantity of cards I sent away, whether they sent me a card or perhaps not. Now I send out cards, but just handmade, to my friends and family.
